-CARE

All our fabrics have been pre-washed with sensitive skin soap and air dried to prevent shrinking before cutting and sewing.

To expand the longevity of your YAYI garment, we recommend hand washing in cold water with a delicate soap that’s not harmful to the environment and naturally hang dry on a clothesline, drying rack, or on a hanger in your shower. Careful not to hang dry colored garments in direct sunlight; colors may wear out.

It is okay to machine wash some of the sturdier garments in gentle cycle with cold water. These garments are identified on the hang tag or mentioned in the item description of the online shop.

NEVER PUT THESE GARMENTS IN A DRYER, as dryers shrink the fabrics and debilitate the strength of natural fibers.

Ironing is recommended for a crisp and elegant look, although steaming will do a good job releasing wrinkles after drying too.

 Dry cleaning is not advised, unless it is for stain removal or if recommended on the garment description.

 

-MENDING

In the effort to keep garments away from landfills, we offer free repair of minor stitch fixes like ripped seams and replacement of lost or broken special trims like buttons (if still in stock). The customer is responsible for shipping costs or local delivery & pickup of the garment repaired. But we also encourage you to learn how to sew a lost hook and eye or mend your garments by hand to give it a second life if your garment is “unfixable”. There are endless possibilities!
